georgia tech online masters analytics review
Georgia tech online masters analytics review: My initial purpose (like many people who think about this program) was to assist me in pursuing a career as a data scientist. I have a “non-traditional” background. I’ve been an engineer for medical devices, working primarily in product design’s physical and mechanical aspects. However, I’ve always been fascinated by the analysis of data and the statistical storytelling aspects of my job and was looking to learn more about these areas. I thought about an online Bootcamp but ultimately chose to pursue an all-encompassing Master’s as I believed it would help me gain credibility, particularly considering that I did not have any prior experience in data analytics and thought it would be an excellent personal accomplishment. I was an engineer of medical devices for about six years before entering the program.
When I was deciding which schools to apply to, the criteria I used was that the school should have the option of learning remotely because I was not willing to quit my job as a full-time employee and had an excellent reputation. I considered applying to just three of the programs I was interested in: UC Berkeley Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS), University of Illinois Master of Computer Science in Data Science (MCS-DS), as well as Georgia Tech’s Master of Analytics (OMSA). But, the choice was easy for me since I was only accepted into OMSA. I did my best and scored very well on my GREs. I also made sure to obtain high-quality recommendation letters from both my former and current supervisors. The result is that I’m thrilled that I chose OMSA instead of both of the programs.
