Gatech omscs acceptance rate: Braves are working hard to build a new nucleus of talent that will take them to record 14 consecutive division championships. The Southern hip-hop culture has taken over the country with Usher and TLC giving the city the moniker “The Motown of the South.” The Atlanta-based cable news channel CNN has attracted 10 million viewers every night to see Operation Desert Storm unfold live on American televisions. In Midtown which is the city’s heaviest neighborhood, is a public university with minimal publicity–the Georgia Institute of Technology, which accepted 69 percent of its 5,843 applicants.
In 2006, the Braves dynasty had ended, TLC had gone their separate ways, and CNN was substituted as America’s top-rated news channel. Yet, the acceptance rate for Georgia Tech remained unchanged at 69 percent. The significant increases in research costs and enrollments that started in the late 1990s began to reap dividends in the mid-’90s. From then, the school’s reputation grew in tandem with the acceptance rate slowed. In 2013, around half of the applicants had been accepted, and the following year, just one-third. The 40,000or so who applied for a spot in the class of 2024 were admitted only at a 20 percent rate. Georgia Tech is now a top school, and students wishing to be accepted into its College of Engineering or Computing are faced with an admissions process as arduous as MIT, Caltech, and Carnegie Mellon, especially if they are from outside of the state.
