Name that tune tv show: The music game show started as a program that aired on NBC Radio in 1952. The following year it was moved to television on NBC and then, later, to CBS. The show was revived on NBC during the 70s and numerous times during first-run syndication.
This edition of the Name That Tunes series test contestants’ musical knowledge in a battle with a variety of musical contests for money and cash prizes. Each hour-long episode consists of two half-hour competitions that stand alone. Two contestants compete against one another while racing against time for a chance to see how well they know songs that are performed by the band live.
Each contest is comprised of a changing variety of games that are based on the original format before the famous Bid-a Note round. The player who has the highest amount of cash at the conclusion of Bid-a-Note is the winner and is able to take his or her money into the Golden Medley bonus round. In the bonus round, players have an opportunity to win extra cash and could win the prize of $100,000.
Steven Weber, who is a regular character scheduled for Brothers & Sisters and will be a part of zipping the half-hour comedy pilot produced by NBC. Weber will portray the role of a Beverly Hills hanger-on who, along with his colorful co-stars, comes up with one scheme after the other for him to “make it big” and ensure his three children are taken care of. ….
