In order to determine the ranking of its best CS software, Guide2Research turned to Google Scholar and DBLP, the website that catalogs CS journal articles as well as conference papers, to assess the academic efficiency of more than 6,300 computing researchers.
Also known as an h-index, the measure is based on an inverse relationship between the number of articles an author has published and the number of citations each paper is given in other publications. It employs this quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess the importance of an individual’s work in the process of ranking.
“This ranking is particularly meaningful because it is based primarily on our faculty members’ academic and research success,” said Charles Isbell Jr. Georgia Tech’s department of computing’s dean as well as John P. Imlay Jr.’s chair. “It’s solid evidence that we are delivering a world-class computing and computer science educational experience for our students.”
The year 2020 was the most successful for Georgia Tech.
