how much does a pharmacy tech make in nyc
How much does a pharmacy tech make in nyc: So I’m considering seriously enrolling in a pharmacy school after having thought about medical school for a long time. I think that pharmacy is the best option for me with regards to my interests in pharmaceuticals as well as research and industry practice.
In light of that, I’ve been contemplating that maybe it’s ideal for getting work as a pharmacist technician. I’m currently employed as a patient care associate, earning $19/hour. What I’m most worried about at the moment is the possibility that becoming a tech could mean a salary cut. So, I’m curious about what is the average salary CVS techs usually earn? I’m currently in NYC, and I’m wondering if this can make a difference. I’m referring to CVS due to the fact that after looking through some hospitals within the city, I’ve noticed that all of them require the completion of a technical course that I could not fit into my schedule between school and work. CVS appears to offer on-the-job training, and then you have to pass the exam for certification (correct me if not). My current hospital does not have any job openings on its HR website. However, maybe I could just inquire with some pharmacists I’ve met?
I’ve been part-time working as a pharmacy tech at CVS for nearly 4 years. I’m now at $11.40/hour and a yearly increase of 2.2%. This is definitely a significant pay reduction from the current position. I was in high school in the lowest rung on the scale of pay. I’m not complaining about earning the same amount as an undergraduate student. I’m not sure of what more senior career technicians make. However, I don’t think they earn more than the salary you earn at work.
