The system in use within India is 10+2+3 for courses like science, commerce humanities, social sciences media, management, and. (Engineering degrees are an exception, which is a 4 year course).However in the US the system that is followed is 10+2+4 years.
Students in the US are required to take the SAT and ACT for admission into Universities and Colleges after their High School. In India there are national-level exams for Engineering and Medical programs and the requirements for other courses is determined by the percentage students achieve on the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination.
A former president Barack Obama once mentioned that he is apprehensive about teachers with thirty or more students within their class. This is due to the fact that within the US the ratio of student-teacher is not more than 1:30 in the majority of classes. In India despite the regulations mentioned within the RTE Act, the teacher-student ratio is up to 1:80, and at times even 1:100.
In India the state of the infrastructure in many of schools is in dire state, with no benches or electrical equipment in the schools that are run by the government. In the US the public schools are generally well-maintained and have good infrastructure and technology available to teachers.
